Here is a brief summery of what has to happen to produce quality embroidery.
In order to produce your custom logo the first thing that is required it your logo, idea or concept put into a digital "vector" graphic.
This is done with programs like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator.
Once this is done we bring your artwork (which is simply just digital lines) into our digitizing software where we plot your design.
We digitize each and ever portion of the design telling the machine where to drop the needle and where to lift it for each area of the design.
There are several different styles of stitches these include, runs, columns, fills, backstitch, just to name a few.
Your artist/digitizer will utilize these different type of stitches to give your logo depth and texture to make your custom design "pop".

There is no easy way to estimate the number of stitches in a design. This example might help get you close, however the true stitch amount will be unknown until it it digitized in its entirety. Imagine a 4"x4" square. If that entire square was solid embroidery it would have approximately 20,000 stitches. now imagine your design and figure out what percentage of a 4" solid square does your design take up, (taking into account embroidery that is overlapping) and subtract or add that percentage to 20,000 stitches and you will have a rough idea. For example you have your company name arching across the top of a logo with a 2" world globe in the middle and another line of text arching along the bottom. This imaginary 4" square being filled with approximately 65 percent embroidery would be 65 percent of 20,000. This is the best explanation I have.
